Make a cheap focal reducer from a 40mm binocular objective.

Get a broken or second-hand 40mm binocular and set of m42 threaded camera extension rings from a photography shop. Remove a 40mm objective and glue to a 1" extension ring. Screw into the camera. You will find the focus point has moved about an inch in and the field of view should roughly double!. I would like to thank Jay LeBlanc and Tommy Gooch for this idea.
