All change again.  Out goes the ST8 and in comes a Starlight Xpress SXV.  I really really like this camera.  It has fantastic sensitivity and a USB2 interface for quick downloads.  However the best feature is probably the CCD it uses.  This Sony devices has amazingly little dark noise.  Indeed for exposures of less than 10 minutes you are advised not to subtract a dark frame as this procedure would add noise to the image!!!

As I wanted to keep the SBIG filter wheel I had I needed a way to connect this to the camera.  A male to male t thread would of worked but would of pushed the camera further from the wheel (a bad thing!).  I am grateful (as ever) to Arthur Edwards for machining a collar to allow the camera to be butted up against the wheel.

The SXV I am very happy with; the guider I was less so....  Until I did a bit of work on it....
